Sunline Favourite In Manikato Stakes
Champion Kiwi mare Sunline is overwhelming favourite at the TAB to take out the Manikato Stakes across the Tasman this weekend.
Sunline returns to racing in the 1200m sprint at Moonee Valley, Melbourne, on Saturday evening. The race is due to jump at 6.20pm NZT.
TAB racing bookie Justin Swift said Sunline was favourite at $1.85 in the TAB’s fixed odds book.
“She ran the race fresh up last year on her way to winning the Cox Plate. Her chief danger is top Aussie galloper Falvelon ($4.50). That horse won the Hong Kong Sprint last year on the same day that Sunline won the Hong Kong Mile,” he said.
Swift said Melbourne is expecting rain in the lead up to the race, which would further enhance Sunline’s prospects. “She is unbeaten on a soft track, unbeaten fresh up, unbeaten at the distance and unbeaten at Moonee Valley.”
