Acting Chief Executive of National Library of New Zealand
The State Services Commissioner, Michael Wintringham, announced today that Ms Sue Guest would be Acting Chief Executive of the National Library of New Zealand until the new Chief Executive and National Librarian is appointed.
Ms Guest will take up the acting role on 17 June 2002 after she returns from overseas. She is the Director of Corporate Services and has wide experience in the National Library.
The current Chief Executive and National Librarian, Mr Christopher Blake, takes up his appointment as Chief Executive and Secretary of the Department of Internal Affairs on 4 June 2002.
Ms Diane Wyber, Director of Policy and Strategic Development, will be the Acting Chief Executive in the two weeks between when Mr Blake leaves and Ms Guest returns from overseas.
Mr Wintringham said he hoped to announce a permanent appointment of the National Librarian in August 2002.
