As part of a nation-wide tour, guitarist, improviser and composer Greg Malcolm stops in Auckland to present his new programme for adapted guitar. Amplifying the instrument from several points, his acoustic set is characterised by hypnotic evolving melodies, in which sounds are created live and organically via string manipulation and layered drones. Conjuring a surreal sense of space and the timelessness of the New Zealand landscape, this work suggests feelings of being Homesick for Nowhere. Think you know what guitar sounds like? You're wrong!
