Caanz/Tvnz Media School Takes Off
Bookings have now opened for the 6th Media School, which is operated by CAANZ and now sponsored by TVNZ.
The popular and successful “Learning to Fly” school for media juniors is a two and a half day seminar, and features an overview of all aspects of media, as well as presentations of winning Media Award entries.
Barry Williamson, who developed the initial seminar concept, in conjunction with the CAANZ Media Committee, leads the school. Mr Williamson was awarded Media Personality of the Year for his work in developing and training media teams over many years.
“Learning to Fly” also includes sessions on negotiation skills, and the participants will get to see a live television production at TVNZ.
Clare Cassrels, CAANZ Events Manager, says that the course is continually being refined and developed. “Some of the top industry and media practitioners in the country present at the seminar, and the feedback from attendees is always really positive. What makes the Media School so successful though, year after year, is the benefit that the Media Managers and Directors see back in the workplace.”
“The new TVNZ sponsorship has meant that we
can move the seminar to a bigger venue – the Hyatt Hotel’s
“Top of the Town”, said Cassrels.
