Quote From Francesco De Angelis
At the end of today's race
Francesco de Angelis, skipper of Luna Rossa, said: "It's
been a close and very hard fought race. We had two
opportunities to pass OneWorld but somehow we were unable to
capitalize on at least one of these. OneWorld sailed
consistently well and won the race. We had to face a couple
of difficult situations and the strong breeze didn't help.
After breaking the pole in the second downwind leg we
rounded the bottom mark behind and had to take a risk in the
last beat by sailing away from OneWorld. I will now go back
to the base to have a debriefing with the crew to analyze
the match and wrap up today's racing".
