Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides has won the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.

Novels as good as this aren't published very often.² - TIME OUT, London The Pulitzer Prize has been awarded by Columbia University since 1917. The awards are given on the recommendations of a board of jurors for Journalism, Letters, Music and Drama. The awards for Letters include Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry, Biography or Autobiography, and History. Previous winners for fiction include literary giants, John Steinbeck, Ernest Hemingway and Harper Lee.
