"Another victory for the common man and common sense. " proclaims Ant Timpson, BIFF Director, referring today's to high court decision in Wellington.

The Society for The Promotion of Community Standards took Claudia Elliot, President of The Film and Publications Board of Review to the High Court in Wellington today.

The SPCS was contesting Elliot's decision which denied the Society's requests for interim restrictions on the films "Ken Park" and "Irreversible". The SPCS also sought court costs from the Board of Review to compensate their legal fees.

The decision went against the SPCS and their secretary David Lane.

BECK'S INCREDIBLE FILM FESTIVAL opens in Wellington tonight at the Paramount Theatre. Wellingtonians will have the chance to view "Irreversible" tomorrow at 9:10pm, despite Mr Lane's efforts. Will the capital's filmgoers turn into a crazed crowd of degenerates? we wait with bated breath.
