“This was not an easy job,” said Kay Buisman, one of this year’s two judges. “But the good look very good.”

The judges for 2003 are Hamish Meikle, Senior Lecturer in Design at the University of Canterbury School of Fine Art, and Kay Buisman, Whitcoulls Christchurch Regional Sales Manager and they bring perspectives from both the design and retail sides of the industry.

Winners in the four categories of Best Book, Best Cover, Best Typography and Best Use of Illustration will be announced on Sunday July 20.
