Historic wedding gown exhibition postponed
The exhibition of historic wedding gowns scheduled to be held at St Matthew-in-the-City on October 9 -16, has been postponed until May 2004.
The reason for this is that we realize the potential interest in the event is far greater than we anticipated, and that by putting the date back to May of next year will give us time to put together a landmark exhibition.
The exhibition, called “MOMENTS IN TIME: Memories in White”, will feature wedding and christening gowns from throughout the last century, as well as a range of celebrities’ dresses and modern designers’ gowns.
“We are still interested in hearing from women who have been married, or have a relative who was married at St Matthew’s over the century,” says Event Manager, Jasmin Kemp.
“We
intend to display a good cross-section of gowns. If you
still have your mother’s or grandmother’s wedding dress
tucked away somewhere, we would love to hear from you.”
