NEWSFLASH!!!!
No Name returns triumphant from the Melbourne Fringe Festival clutching the coveted Golden Gnome of Best Comedy!
That's right, Gentiane Lupi and Jo Randerson won BEST COMEDY OF THE MELBOURNE FRINGE 2003 for their show Cracks In The Garden. This is the third show from the comedy duo No Name, following their earlier successes 'A Dark Day With No Name' and 'The No Name Comedy Fracas'.
Melbourne's 'The Age' reviewer Fiona Scott-Norman had this to say: 'Kiwi duo brilliant...intelligent, disturbing, character-based comedy...mordant, tangential ... works brilliantly.'
Lupi and Randerson were delighted with their success and the Gnome holds prize place on Lupi's mantelpiece, although Randerson will take possession for the month of November. The Gnome will obviously be returning to Lupi for the silly season (Christmas).
PLUS: The SIlo theatre is pleased to announce it has secured the brilliant aforementioned Kiwi duo for an Auckland season of 'Cracks In the Garden', 16-20 December.
