An Innovative Approach To Heritage Education
Today, Mercury Bay Regional Museum and Mercury Bay Area School have the greatest pleasure in announcing the launch of an organic relationship to maximise the potential involvement of the school in the MB Regional Museum and the development project.
The Project Team have invited the school to participate in all aspects of the project, from membership of the Project and Fundraising Committees to Visitor Survey activities and working with the exhibition designers on individual exhibition areas.
Currently, staff and students are working together with the designers on scriptwriting and recording of the commentary to accompany the Coromandel Natural History Exhibit, due for completion in October 2004.
It is hoped that the project, and the
new museum, will assist in many areas of curriculum content
for the school. The involvement of the students of all ages
will, it is hoped, enable them to see that museums are
interesting places to be involved with.
