The Doctor is in the House, tonight!

The Doctor is in the House, tonight!

Former All Black doctor and family man, John Mayhew, is the special guest at the Christchurch Casino’s Grand Café this evening.

Dr Mayhew will speak at a charity dinner and auction, to raise money for the Christchurch based Family Help Trust.

Bookings are heavy but there are some seats still available to tonight’s three course dinner.

The Family Help Trust is currently hoping to raise enough funds to purchase First Aid kits for its high risk families and at risk children, as a part of the ongoing programme to improve safety in Canterbury homes. With the meningococcal vaccine not due in Christchurch until next August, these kits, containing a thermometer, would help a great deal in monitoring the health of the Trust’s children.

The Trust is constantly raising funds for its work as it receives no central government funding for its highly successful, intensive early intervention programmes for at risk families and their children. Working for up to 5 years in a family home, to improve parenting skills so that they may be passed down to the children and so on, the Trust helps to breaks the cycle of violence and dysfunction in the homes that need it most.

Thank you for your continued support.
