New Zealand¹s ski racers of tomorrow lined up in the start box of Cardrona¹s giant slalom course today for the Otago Daily Times Junior Interfield Series.
Six year-old Bella Martin from Queenstown took out the girls¹ J6 (eight years and under) ahead of QAST team-mates Jodie Llwellan and Jordan Murphy. Fastest in the J6 was Wanaka¹s Jackson Wells with Richard McLaughlan and George Heard, also from Wanaka, coming second and third.
The J5 age group (ten years and under) saw Queenstown¹s Louise Oxenvad with the fatest time in the girls and Blake Marshall (Queenstown) taking out the boys.
Kell Potts was the fastest boy in J4 (12 years and under) while Wanaka¹s Sarah McCollam took a convincing win of over four seconds in the girls.
The eldest age group
competing today, J3 (14 years and under) saw massive leads
in both the boys¹ and girls¹. Catalin Feasey (Wanaka) was
over 15 seconds faster than her nearest rival, Catherine
Simms (Queenstown) while in the boys Wanaka¹s Sam Austin was
five seconds ahead of Kelly Ambrose.
