Excitement Builds For This Week's Ty Gig
UK Hip Hop Sensation TY is finally here in New Zealand. And boy is he excited. During this long awaited tour he'll be creating his own unique blend of hip hop with help from long time collaborator DJ Bizznizz while band members Eska & Phillip Harper add their live elements to the organic mix of TY's sound.
And the line up just gets better. Local dub legends Trinity Roots, and 'Many Styles' Manuel Bundy provide support in all three centres, with top local acts playing each venue.
TY has been a star of the underground for far too long, and now he's rapidly moving onwards and upwards, Heineken Music is pleased to be the first to bring him to New Zealand fans, especially with tickets only $35 plus booking fee.
TY's music had been described as a fusion of hip hop, soul, jazz, ragga, and garage, pioneering a new breed of Hip Hop that's earning both critical acclaim and a massive response from Hip Hop fans the world over.
Most recently his album Upwards was nominated for this year's Mercury Award, up against UK music heavyweights Basement Jaxx, Franz Ferdinand, and The Streets. TY's tracks will also be featured in the upcoming 'Oceans 12', sequel to the US Blockbuster Oceans 11.
