Army Band To Perform At Edinburgh Military Tattoo

27 September, 2004

World Renowned
NEW ZEALAND ARMY BAND
to perform at The Edinburgh Military Tattoo
"A Salute to Australia"
in Sydney February 2005

The New Zealand Army Band celebrates its 40th year with the announcement that it has been invited to perform at The Edinburgh Military Tattoo 'A Salute to Australia' at Aussie Stadium in Sydney in February 2005.

The New Zealand Army Band is well known as New Zealand's foremost Marching and Ceremonial band performing throughout the year at numerous Government, State and Civil occasions as well as national and international sporting fixtures.

Established in 1964, the band has also travelled extensively performing throughout Australia, Asia, Europe and America. Its previous Tattoo performances include the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in New Zealand in 2000 and Edinburgh in 2002.

This is only the second time in its 55-year history that the internationally acclaimed Tattoo has been staged outside Edinburgh. As in New Zealand in 2000, a life size replica of Edinburgh Castle will be built within Aussie Stadium to help recreate the magic of the historic Edinburgh setting.

The Tattoo cast of more than 1200 performers will include the world's finest Military bands from Scotland, Australia, England, USA, New Zealand and Norway, and more than 200 of the world's best Highland Dancers chosen from around Australia and Scotland.

Tickets for this "once in a lifetime event", the biggest arts and entertainment stadium event to hit Australia, are on sale now. Within hours of tickets first going on sale tens of thousands of seats had been sold and extra performances were added. The Edinburgh Military Tattoo will perform in Sydney on 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 February 2005 with ticket and accommodation packages available by calling 0508 TATTOO (0508 828866).
