AK05: Touch Compass Dance Trust

Touch Compass Dance Trust

Ten of Hearts

What: Ten of Hearts is a new work by award winning choreographer Malia Johnston in collaboration with the Touch Compass Company dancers, premiering at the inaugural Giant Leap Disability Arts Festival. This is a family, an odd bunch of characters that live and play together with great physicality and grace. Descending from ceilings and flying through centuries of love, the Company are accompanied by the Aotea Youth Symphony (AYS) 75 piece orchestra. With this touching indoor/outdoor event for the whole family, Touch Compass proves once again that it is New Zealand’s premier mixed ability Dance Company.

Touch Compass Dance Trust past highlights include performing at the 2000 Sydney Paralympics, Lighthouse season Aotea ASB Theatre 2002, Acquisitions short works 2003, 3 short films and featured in 4 TV documentaries.
