Newtown Festival: North Stage Performers


Newtown Festival 2005 - Festival Fair - Sunday 6 March - North Stage Performers

Music is a key element of the Newtown Festival. The performers on the North Stage are well known within music circles and have links to the Newtown Community

Performers on the North Stage include

10:00 am Aviators (Funk/pop) - Highly energenic funk band performing well crafted original tunes.Infectious
dance grooves combined with an enthusiastic delivery make this band a great
act to catch at this years Newtown Festival

11:15 am Wellington Heads (Jazzy Blues) - music stretching from 1920s jazz spiced with New Orleans gumbo through to blues-tinged. They combine contemporary influences with Pacific flavours, and the music that they produce is relaxed, fresh and innovative, and - above all - fun.

12:30 pm Sparticus R (Contemporary Pop) - Liken to to a Hot curry and a whiskey because the music is tasty and leaves you with a warm feeling inside. A talented 6 piece performing an eclectic collection of styles covering rock, funk with mellow tones and grooves. Simply a great band to listen to with some wonferful musicians giving it their all

1:30 pm GND (Hip Hop) a three piece group resenting a high energy performance of hip hop music

2:45 pm OdESSA (Funk/pop) - bringing funk and soul to the masses. Drawing influence from a multitude of genres, this groove driven foursome deliver a fresh spontaneous sound.

3:45 pm Uncle Monkey (Pop) - a unique blend of invigoratingly honest lyrics, classic indie-pop and soothing melodies combine magically and are delivered by three talented muso's with New Zealand vigor and powerful resonance.

4:30 pm Finish
