Vanessa Quin Wins National Mountain Bike Downhill Championships
Vanessa Quin won the 2005 National Mountain Bike Championships last weekend conquering the track where she will compete in August 2006 at the UCI World Mountain Bike and Trials Championships.
Vanessa scorched down Rotorua’s Mount Ngongotaha in 3 minutes 35 seconds to win the women’s professional class and says she can’t wait to get back “up the hill” again next year for the World Championships.
“I couldn’t be happier with the win or the track,” she says.
“It’s a fast and flowing track that’ll make a great World’s course. The workmanship that has gone into the track is just amazing. I’m looking forward to competing against the world’s best on it in 2006.”
Subaru of New Zealand General Manager Wallis Dumper believes the only thing that could make Vanessa go any faster was if she had all-wheel-drive like her Subaru Forester.
“We’re very proud to be a major personal sponsor to Vanessa and would like to pay tribute to the competitive spirit and sporting commitment that have brought her to yet another great milestone in her career.
“Vanessa’s name will be on the National trophy for the second year running and we’re very proud to be associated with that.”
