Designer brings classic 1940's atmosphere to Auck

The classic atmosphere of the 1940's arrives in Auckland this week when fashion designer Robyn Mathieson takes post-war glamour to the catwalk for the Ponsonby Fringe Festival.

Robyn Mathieson is one of three designers showing (9pm start.) on Wednesday 6 April at GPK Restaurant on Ponsonby Road.

The Robyn Mathieson Winter 2005 Collection "For The Girls Who Stayed At Home" was inspired by the home front of the war years, and post-war styles.

Robyn Mathieson says her winter range is for girls who like to dress-up and go out wrapped up in their winter coat, perhaps a stole and jewels, and their favourite handbag.

The range has a slim-line elegance and purity of fabric with a restrained individuality introduced through fine details such as panel lines and pockets decorated with buttons and brooches.

"For the Girls Who Stayed At Home" is a delicately sensual and intelligent range from Robyn Mathieson for the confident feminine woman of today.

The Robyn Mathieson brand is sold exclusively through the two Robyn Mathieson stores, in Wellington and Auckland.
