Entry for Manawatu.com Manawatu Striders Half Marathon 2005 now open

Entries are now being accepted for the 23rd annual Manawatu.com Manawatu Striders Half Marathon, to be held on Sunday August 14th 2005.

For the first time, participants in the half marathon, 10km and 5km may enter online at www.manawatustriders.org.nz. In addition, participants may fill out the printable entry form on the website and submit it via regular mail, or pick up an entry brochure from sports shops, gymnasiums and information centres throughout the region. Entry fees are $30 for the Half Marathon and $5 for the 5km or 10km.

The major spot prize for this year’s Half Marathon is a return trip for two to the Cook Islands, including eights nights accommodation at the Edgewater Resort in a Beachfront Deluxe Suite, return airport transfers, daily tropical breakfast, and entry into the 2005 Edgewater Resort Round Rarotonga Road Race.

In total, over 250 spot prizes will be up for grabs including: six pairs of Adidas shoes courtesy of the Shoe Clinic on Broadway Ave; a bike from Pedal Pushers; a $650 espresso machine from Ebony Coffee on George Street; six CamelBak Catalyst drink delivery systems; four Carboshotz prize packs; jet boat tours of the Manawatu Gorge for four adults courtesy of Hiwinui Jet; a glider flight courtesy of Gliding Manawatu; one flying fox ride at Mokai Gravity Canyon; shoes from Kellys footwear; accommodation and meals at Wharehau farmstay in the Hawkes Bay; five t-shirts from Night Runner; subscriptions to Walking New Zealand magazine; gift baskets from Jonathan’s Spices and GK Occasions; plus many many more.

Biofarm Products are another major sponsor of this year’s event and will be having a booth at the finish area serving delicious smoothies.
