Crossings: 9 to 20 August
Kia ora,
The Studio Gallery presents “CROSSINGS”- a vibrant dialogue across genre in which two artists, highly accomplished in their respective fields, have collaborated to explore an art form that is visually unique... poems by RIEMKE ENSING are translated into art by TARA McLEOD.
Tara McLeod is a multi media artist, whose work encompasses print and relief artworks. Printed books from his private press The Pear Tree Press, are held in major libraries and collections in New Zealand, Australia, England, USA and Canada. Other works incorporating text have been exhibited at The Turnbull Library and the Dowse Art Museum. Tara is the fine art printer for the Holloway Press, The University of Auckland.
Riemke Ensing is a major New Zealand poet whose work has been anthologised and published extensively both in New Zealand and overseas. She had a long career as a Senior Tutor specialising in New Zealand literature at the English Department, The University of Auckland. She was the Buddle Findlay Sargeson Fellow in 2002 and is now an Honorary Research Fellow at The University of Auckland.
