Cutting edge music, art and technology were seamlessly intertwined at the Heineken Music Green Room Sessions last weekend. Two exclusive nights were held, one in Wellington on Friday 29th July and one in Auckland on Saturday 30th July. Mark de Clive-Lowe performed live with UK guest vocalist Bembe Segue supported by the finest line up of local DJ’s.

This was Mark’s first time back to New Zealand since 2003, bringing together local musicians to perform alongside him, including Rikki Gooch, Cherie Matheson, Taisha Kuhtze and Lewis McCallum.

Each venue had been miraculously transformed for the evening by set designer Cath Lewis. Guests were greeted at the entrance by hands emerging from a white stretch wall offering bottles of Heineken. They then handed over their tickets to door staff. Each ticket featured a unique piece of artwork on the back which became an integral piece of an overall puzzle. The tickets were pasted onto a 3 metre high board completing a giant abstract artwork. People then moved through to the main room – an impressively intimate setting with full multi-media effects by visual mastermind, Mike Hodgson.

For the first time ever guests at both events were able to experience the innovative Heineken Beer Tender which may soon be available in New Zealand. The Beer Tender maintains a compact four litre keg at the correct temperature, and in the most optimal drinking condition for a period of three weeks after the first beer has been drawn. The Beer Tender allows people to draw and enjoy a perfect glass of fresh Heineken beer whenever they want, wherever they want - even in the comfort and privacy of their own home.

The Heineken Music Green Room Sessions are where trends, fashion and movements are born. They create environments that allow new directions in music, art and technology to be realized and to find an audience. It’s a place where friends can get together and enjoy big music in a small and intimate environment.

This is the first in a series of Heineken Music Green Room Sessions. To be part of these exclusive events in the future, register at http://www.heinekenmusic.co.nz.
