Main Venues: Te Papa/ The Marae, City Art Gallery, Upper Hutt Library, Lower Hutt Library, Pataka Museum and Paekakariki Hall.

Now in it’s third year, the Wellington International Poetry Festival, has become an icon event of Wellington city, adding a focus on poetry and peace to its exciting and varied cultural calendar. The festival has as its central theme Disarmament and Peaceful Dialogue.

WIPF offers a plethora of events to stimulate, educate, entertain and celebrate cultural diversity and peaceful poetic dialogue. The events are highly accessible and diverse; most are free of charge and at various times of the day and evening, promising everyone a chance to come and experience the Festival.
