Prime To Screen New Ricky Gervais Comedy, Extras
Extras, the new 6 x 30 BBC comedy from The Office creators Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, will screen on Prime in Winter 2006.
Extras follows in the footsteps of The Office, the most successful BBC comedy of all time worldwide, and features a star studded cast. Ricky Gervais plays struggling actor Andy Millman alongside guest stars Kate Winslet, Ben Stiller, Samuel L Jackson and Patrick Stewart.
Extras has been commissioned for a second series by the BBC in the UK after its debut series drew an average audience of just under four million.
Ricky Gervais commented "We never considered a worldwide appeal. We make television for a British audience and it's still amazing to me that most countries in the world have my fat face beamed into homes once a week."
Prime Television is delighted to have secured the rights to broadcast the hit sitcom Extras in New Zealand.
