The blokes behind Kiwi band RockGodsAnonymous [RGA] have fast-tracked the launch of their latest single following a plea from broadcaster Paul Holmes for more humour in music.

And they are endorsing the call for a bigger chill-out factor with the early release of the powerful and deep love ballad 'My New Girlfriend', a track is from their forthcoming album 'Sweet London.'

But they are also touting the return of a Men's Movement to bring back more manliness and higher standards in society.

Their stance is akin to Kiwi classics "Bliss" and "Blue Lady", along with icons like Al Bundy, Lion Brown, The Beige Brigade, Barry Crump, The Mad Butcher, Stubbies, Tana Umaga, Wal Footrot, The Hoff, and of course Y-Fronts.

RGA believe their latest tear-jerking, beer-opening, un-melodic, and quite frankly intense attempt at a love song will strike a chord with grass-root Kiwis, and make a difference to society.

Founders Dan Stenhouse and Tipene Mac, in a rare foray off the farm, say in light of the Holmes' call, they hope people will be inspired by their soulful sound.

"Like Paul, I'm all for a bit more light-heartedness in music and society. But we gotta bring back the staunch factor and push the PC boundary. We all know it's long overdue," says Tipene.

"I say bring back the mullet and bad facial hair and get back out there on the land. Mate, Kiwis are real. They're staunch you know. My New Girlfriend basically pays homage to that. It's one for all of us."

Adds Dan: "This is about Ford and Holden and Chev drivers as much as anything. It's a chance for them to hear some real music because it's all about soul, life-blood and purity there brother. Na Tumeke!"
