From the Fringe Festival award winning team that brought you Café Dement, Backyard Productions now presents Triffic Travel, a new play by Sam Fisher. Like Dement, Triffic Travel is presented in a real-world setting, in this case the offices of Phoenix Travel on The Terrace (in the Wellington Club building opposite the end of Woodward Street).

We promise that Phoenix is nothing like Triffic!

Rodney Bane plays the harassed manager Roger who has much bigger problems than his unruly chaotic staff. Pip O’Connell plays Sharilynne, a woman on the edge of reason, desperate for her monthly bonus while professional grievance-lodger Mandy (played by Bev Driscoll) is determined to hinder her progress, and Brianne Kerr is the mysterious Matty. Put them together in Sam Fisher’s hilarious new script and the result is a travel office well worth a visit.

Writer Sam Fisher will be familiar to Fringe audiences. As well as Café Dement II last year, Sam has had successful plays in every Fringe since 2002. A number of his other plays have met with critical acclaim and he has had success in NZ Theatre Federation festivals.

Director Leslie Craven has variously acted in and directed a number of well-received shows at both ends of the North Island, most recently Backyard’s Love Letters. When not in front of the lights, Leslie now spends most of his theatre time behind them as a lighting and sound designer.
