Places available in Cathedral Junior Choir
The Choristars of Holy Trinity Cathedral, Parnell are seeking new members for 2006. We are looking for singers aged between 9 and 12, preferably with previous singing or instrumental experience. Singers aged 7 and 8 may join as a Choristars Probationer. Choristars sing 2-3 times a term at Cathedral Services and Community Events.
Benefits include: new friendships, exciting repertoire, ear training & sight-reading skills and learning to participate in a team. Rehearsals are held on Sundays from 11:30am – 12:30pm. You do not need to attend the Cathedral to join the Choristars. Children from all backgrounds are welcome.
Recent Choristars achievements include: 2003 recording for TVNZ’s Praise Be, and a Silver Award at the 2004 NZCF Kids Sing Competition.
Applicants are required to undertake a short audition, singing a well-known song and taking simple ear tests.
