City Gallery Wellington’s Patricia Piccinini—In Another Life and Michael Smither—The Wonder Years are proving a roaring success. Just on 36,000 visitors have flocked to see the exhibitions over the four weeks they have been open. More than 1,000 primary and secondary school students have participated in the Gallery’s special education programmes.
City Gallery Wellington Director, Paula Savage says, ‘We’ve been talking to Patricia Piccinini since 2002 about showing her work at City Gallery Wellington, it was worth the wait. It’s very rewarding to see so many Wellingtonians and Festival visitors enjoying these exhibitions by these outstanding artists, and encouraging other people to visit.’
