CALL TO ENTRANTS

Christchurch’s own band competition is about to take off again in 2006.

The event is open to all musical styles and genres and for musicians
from Christchurch and beyond.

2006 will “Dux-de-Lux RounDUp’s” fifth year running. The event is
organised by RDU98.5FM, the proud supporter of new and original local
music in association with Christchurch’s best and longest running local
music venue and supporter, the Dux-de-Lux.

In 2005, there were 53 bands on the war-ground of talent –The
Undercurrents conquered them all. They earned an estimated $250
million Zimbabwean dollars worth of prizes (NZ$15,000), but more
significantly, it is their name on the trophy: “The Midget Guitar of
Glory”.

The Undercurrents celebrated a part of their winners package from 2005
with their cd release gig at the Dux last Friday.

It’s now time to enter for 2006. The entry form is out there. Go to the
Dux-de-Lux , a local music supporter or go to www.rdu.org.nz. Entries
close August the 25th.

Again, we have some fantastic supporters. RDU loves them all. These
are the supporters who make The Dux-de-Lux RounDUp the band
competition that every bedroom band and artist wants to be part of
again and again. We hope you support them like we do.
