H2O Xtream – a successful regional attraction

The recent September School holidays were yet another busy time for H2O Xtream with over 8,000 people through the doors during the first week. This is the best attended first week of September holidays in the ten year history of H2O Xtream. Over 15,000 people came during the two weeks of the holidays – the best September holidays since 2002.

Children and families came from all over the greater Wellington region to have fun in the waves and on the slides. A survey of customers showed that 61% of visitors were from out of Upper Hutt – proving that H2O Xtream truly is a regional aquatic attraction.

Wellington visitors made up 22% of customers and 11% were from around New Zealand and overseas.

The new black slide, Darkness Falls was again one of the main attractions according to what swimmers liked best about H2O Xtream. Several customers commented on how fantastic it is to have three slides available and how this makes H2O Xtream stand out from other pools. Manager Alison Law says “it’s great to see Darkness Falls continues to be a success for our facility and city”.

The Christmas school holidays are set to be a hit with a Beach Party theme set to make H2O Xtream even more exciting – complete with a sand beach volley ball court and a built in trampoline.
