“X*Air Tickets sold out” rumour not true
Last week there was a rumour that all the tickets for the Vodafone X*Air Games on the 9th and 10th of February were sold out. Event Organiser Mark Wright has confirmed that “tickets are selling really well but no they had definitely not sold out”
He was not sure where the rumours originated.
“We had calls from people from all around the country who rang to ask if the tickets were actually sold out. The only thing we can think of is that there was a glitch with the Ticket Master site for a couple of days where people couldn’t buy the Friday Night passes, maybe that was how it started”
Avoiding gate sales though would be ideal as Wright explains,” if people wait to buy them on the day there could be massive queues and they would potentially miss the action”.
The action will be provided by over 2000 skate, BMX, inline, breakdancing, and freestyle motocross athletes from all over the globe. Big names to watch out for include World no 1 skater Sandro Dias, BMX legend Dave ‘Miracle Man’ Mirra, Backflipping heel clicking FMX Czech Libor Podmol and 3 times X-Games gold medallist, the King of Dirt, BMXer Corey Bohan.
The live soundtrack for the action on Friday Night will be provided by Goodnight Nurse, Kora, PNC, and Blindspott and on Saturday by Stereogram, PMoney, Shapeshifter and The Blackseeds.
Tickets are strictly limited to 15,000 a day. They are $15 a day or $25 for a two-day passes and ARE available from www.vodafonexair.co.nz or Ticket Master outlets which include Rebel Sports, Real Groovy and Paper Plus.
