Call for entries for 6th Annual Richmond
Road Short Film Festival – new extended cut-off entry
date
The cut-off date for entries for the Richmond Road Short Film Competition has been extended to the 16th February 2007.
The festival, candidly known as ‘The Richies’. – is one of the most important dates on the New Zealand Short Film calendar. The Richmond Road Short Film Festival – ‘The Richies’ will screen about 10 finalists to an audience of 1200 plus, on a giant 20’ x 40’ inflatable screen, under the stars in the grounds of historic Richmond Road School in Ponsonby on Saturday 24th March 2007.
The Short Film Competition is in it’s third year and is open to any New Zealand short film – drama, documentary, experimental or animated. Finalists (judged by a panel of industry heavyweights) are eligible for 6 awards (‘a Richie’) plus prizes, awarded on the night:
- Best Screenplay
- Best Direction
- Best Performance – Male
- Best Performance – Female
- Best Short Film Overall
There is also ‘a richie’ awarded for the People’s Choice Award, text voted by the audience attending on the night.
