PRESS RELEASE

Bboys Descend to Dominate the Capital
The Moro Breakdancing at Vodafone X*Air (9th and 10th of February) is always a show stopper and this year is limbering up to be better than ever.
Dominating the amphitheatre in Frank Kitts park will be 16 teams from all around Australia and New Zealand including the Freeloaders crew from Wellington. Spinning the decks this year will be Wellington DJ Rhys B and DJ Spell from Hamilton.
The format will be the popular three on three battles where each crew of three face up to the other three to out manoeuvre each other for the cash and the ‘cred’.
Expect to see some mad flava as well as headspins, windmills, fast footwork, power, freezes and more.
Breakdancing organiser and host MC B-girl Tweek has the inside word on who to watch out for, “Last year’s crowd favourites were Common Ground from Christchurch they were just beaten by the Furious Styles from Arizona. So definitely Common Ground will be one crew to look out for and there are some mean crews from around New Zealand but the biggest threat will probably come from the Australians, the Fresh Sox crew”.
Fresh Sox and the other crews will be well and truly ready to do battle at X*Air with a warm up session at this Saturday’s legendary Body Rock competition in Civic Square (12 – 5pm).
Tickets for Vodafone X*Air are only $15 a day or $25 for a two-day pass. There are over 150 international and local skate, BMX, inline and freestyle motorcross athletes to blow your mind and a stellar music lineup. The B Boys stage will be sponsored by Cadbury Moro for the 4th year running.
Friday Night features bands Goodnight Nurse, Kora, PNC and Blindspott and Saturday will rock with Stereogram, PMoney, Shapeshifter and The Blackseeds. Tickets available from www.vodafonexair.co.nz and Ticket Master outlets, Real Groovy, Rebel Sports and Paper Plus.
