Cheap as Chips 2007 tickets flying fast
An unmissable line-up and the tiniest ticket price has Christchurch music lovers bubbling with excitement as tickets sell extremely fast for Cheap as Chips 2007.
With just two weeks left until the giant outdoor event on Sunday 4 March, people are being advised to get in quick to see Fat Freddy’s Drop, Shapeshifter, Kora and friends perform their only Christchurch show this summer.
Cheap as Chips organiser and Fabel Music Co-Director Karyn South says the organisers have been impressed by the response, and that this year’s event is set to be a memorable show.
“A lot of people are excited about the line-up. Cheap as Chips is the only time that any of these bands will play in Christchurch pre-winter so tickets are selling fast.”
The Fat Freddy’s Drop appearance at Cheap as Chips 2007 is the first time the band have played in Christchurch since their last appearance at Cheap as Chips 2006. They will be joined by Christchurch’s hottest export, Shapeshifter right off the back of a phenomenal Australian tour. Also performing at this year’s event are Kora. - the Kiwi roots-reggae-rock group poised to be a huge success with the release of their first album later this year.
The main acts will be supported by a collection of RDU show hosts to complete the day of entertainment. They are: Departure Lounge, a 12 piece band, headed by Oakley Grenell, DJ Partido, from Supafly, DJ Messanjah, of the Dubwise show, Urban Notion playing drum’n’bass, and Dr Hitchcock from RDU’s Mixtape Sessions.
