Wellington Zoo prepares for huge kids party
Children from all over the Wellington region will descend on Wellington Zoo this Sunday 4 March as part of national Children’s Day celebrations, Wellington Zoo Events Co-ordinator, Marina Greco announced today.
“Children’s Day is a real celebration, a day where the Zoo is filled with the energy and laughter of children. We expect to see loads of brightly painted faces and children enjoying a day out with our animals.”
“Entry to Wellington Zoo on Children’s Day costs just 100 cents ($1) for under 17’s.”
“This years Children’s Day is special as it marks the end of Wellington Zoo’s centenary celebrations. Sunday’s celebrations will also include live African drummers, a bouncy castle and a birthday cake.”
The Zoo’s Historic Elephant House will be open for the three final performances of the play An Elephant Never Forgets, especially written for the Zoo’s centenary, and loads of animal talks and activities are scheduled for throughout the day.
Wellington Zoo would like to thank the Rotary Club of Wellington for their generous support of Children’s Day 2007.
