World Netball Championships General Manager Announced
Jane Patterson has been appointed General Manager of World Netball Championships 2007 Limited, the Company established to run the World Netball Championships.
Patterson has been involved in the events industry for a decade working for International Management Group (IMG) Ltd, the world’s largest sports management company, before establishing her own company two years ago. She has been Event Director of Ironman New Zealand since 2000, the Port of Tauranga Half Ironman and the SPARC Real Duathlon Series. She has also been involved with several major events including the Queenstown Winter Festival, New Zealand Open Golf, Brazilian Soccer Tour of Australia and several major concert tours.
World Netball Championships 2007 Board Chair Sara Lunam says that she is delighted to have secured an events professional with Jane’s experience.
“Jane has a great track record, and we’re very confident in her ability to run the World Championships organisation and deliver an outstanding event in November,” she said.
Patterson says she’s excited to be given the opportunity to work on the World Netball Championships.
“I know that my experience in sport and the events industry gives me a solid background in making an international event of this calibre a success,” Patterson said.
“With the support of our many Netball volunteers from throughout the country and of course the greater Auckland community we will host an outstanding World Netball Championships,” she said.
Patterson will start the role immediately.
