Charities Announced For $20,000 Christchurch Casino Celebrity Poker Challenge For Charity
Nine worthy charities have been announced for the 2007 $20,000 Christchurch Casino Celebrity Poker Challenge for Charity.
Celebrities and their chosen charities are: Rico Gear – Canterbury Junior Rugby, Laural Barrett – Orana Park Wildlife Trust, Aja Rock - Autlink Foundation Incorporated, Toni Marsh – Youthline (Central South Island), Kerre Woodham – Cystic Fybrosis Association of New Zealand, Leigh Hart – Cure Kids, Brooke Howard-Smith – Life Line Christchurch, Bill – Ronald McDonald House South Island, Ben – Rambo Charitable Trust.
Over 100 charities registered with Christchurch Casino for the chance to be a recipient of the $20,000 prize pool up for grabs at the event.
The Celebrity Poker Challenge launches the weeklong festival of poker on 14 April. The week culminates on 21 April when the winner of the New Zealand Poker Championships will be found.
It is with regret Christchurch Casino announces Shannon Elizabeth has been forced to pull out of the New Zealand Poker Championships, due to an obligation to stay in the United States to fulfil contractual obligations.

Aspinall Members take on celebrities in a round of speed
poker.
5:30pm – Crusaders v Highlanders on the big
screen.
7:30pm – Christchurch Casino $20,000 Celebrity
Poker Challenge for Charity – Eight celebrities fight it
out Texas Holdem style with the winner’s selected charity
benefiting to the tune of $20,000.
