Paul Cruickshank Racing (PCR) took to the track with great support from the local fans in the Kiwi-owned team's home event at New Zealand's Pukekohe Park, today.

Having completed 20 of the maximum 50 laps allowed, John Bowe was sitting 20th in the order at the end of the first leg of Friday's practice session.

After running inside the top 20 for the bulk of the combined 2hr15min session, V8 Supercar veteran, Bowe finished the opening day in 25th place.

Bowe hustled the #111 Falcon around the 2.81km circuit in 56.8106s on his 46th lap of 47 completed.

Concentrating on race set up throughout today's practice, PCR anticipates performance gains in Qualifying and Race One tomorrow.

Bowe experienced a minor off-track excursion early in the session, but suffered no damage as the New Zealand track punished many others including Jason Richards and Jack Perkins who brought out the red flag at separate times in the drama-filled opening day.

Looking to uphold the pride of New Zealand, in particular the South Island, the PCR crew will now get ready for Saturday's Qualifying and Race One. Race start is scheduled for 4.25pm local time.

JOHN BOWE:

"Being here in New Zealand with a Kiwi team has been a fantastic experience already - the crowd response has been outstanding.

"Hopefully we can give them something to cheer about on race day.

"We spent today's session working on set-up and now our first real goal this weekend is to get past the first qualifying session tomorrow to give ourselves a good start in race one.

"The team has worked really hard in the lead up to this round and we are heading in the right direction."
