Rocky Horror stars take a huge ‘Jump To The Left’
Two leading members of the Rocky Horror Show cast have found a novel way to tackle pre-show nerves at NZONE’s tandem skydive dropzone.
Rocky, aka Simon Green, said he had a ball. He was joined by Russell Dixon, who plays the iconic Frank ‘n’ Furter in the show, which opens on Wednesday 9th May in the Memorial Hall.
“I’d have to say that the adrenaline from today’s jump would definitely blow any sort of pre-show jitters out of the water in comparison,” said Green.
“Russell’s make-up was definitely a little smudged by the end of it, but I think it was as much due to the size of the grin on his face as it was to any sort of wind damage. It’s certainly been a hair-raising day for Russell; he went straight from a full body wax to a 15,000 foot skydive.
“I’ve done a 12,000 footer tandem with NZONE and Russell had done a static line a few years ago, but this was by far the best for us both.
“We certainly had a few raised eyebrows when we walked through the NZONE hanger in full costume, but all good for a laugh!”
