NZ Music Month Quiz Results

NZ Music Month Quiz Results

As with the past couple of years, NZ Music Month 2007 brought with it another highly competitive NZ Music Quiz. Teams have fiercely contested the winning honours over the years, and this time round was no exception -answers were challenged, voices were raised, and a few showoffs got to strut their encyclopaedic stuff in front of a room bristling with NZ music industry brainiacs, in a music-nerd-scrap capably overseen by Kiwi FM’s Wallace Chapman.

Unitec, who supported the event, took the opportunity to share some information about their Diploma in Contemporary Music, a course that prepare students for a career in music or music-related industries, whether their musical background is in voice, playing an instrument, composing with computers, turntablism, playing in a band or teaching music. More information about the course can be found here.

Also of great help on the night to both organisers and competitors were our good friends at Jagermeister who kept things lively on the night with some samples and the largest bottle of alcohol we’ve ever seen for the winning team… But who were the winners after all that?

The bragging rights in previous years have been fought over by NZ Musician and CRS/Big Day Out teams, but this time round a team appeared out of nowhere, a crack commando unit sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. Oh sorry, that’s the A-Team. Without further ado, this year’s NZ Music Month Quiz champs are The A-Holtz, a Queensland-like dream team that came in to win and nothing else would do. Congrats to the team, who picked up a magnificent trophy held together with gaffer tape, the aforementioned Jager, Amstel Premium beers and piles of Garnier and Colgate products to help the tricky process of freshening up this morning. Some more Amstel Premium was on hand to cushion the blow for the Not Very CRS team who were runners up.

Good times, good times...
