Great expectations for the America's Cup Match party

Valencia, 19 June 2007 - The America's Cup Match is about to begin. After more than two months of racing this year, Emirates Team New Zealand has won the Louis Vuitton Cup, and will now face off against the Defender, Alinghi, for the America 's Cup.

The 32nd edition of the America's Cup Match kicks off on 23rd June, but before the great competition on the water gets underway, the organisers of the event will host a spectacular party in its honour. On Thursday 21st June at 21:30 the landmark former Tobacco Trading building in Valencia will be the setting for an evening full of surprises hosted Michel Bonnefous, CEO of the organisers of the 32nd America's Cup.

It will be the first and the last time the former Tobacco trading plant is taken over and used as a party location before restoration work starts on the whole building.

Top models such as Adriana Karembeau, Petra Nemkova, Nieves Alvarez, Judith Mascó, Laura Sánchez, Priscilla de Gustin, Helen Lindes and Mireia Canalda; actors such as Juanjo Puigcorbé, Carolina Cerezuela and María San Juan; sportsmen Fabio Cannavaro and Jorge Martínez 'Aspar' as well as numerous other celebrities and personalities from Spanish society such as Maria José Suarez, Rafi Camino and Natalia Alvarez, Lara Dibildos, Fran Rivera, Fernando Martínez de Irujo and Julio José Iglesias Jr will gather to be part of one of the most important celebrations since the beginning of this legendary sailing event.

One of the highlights of the evening will be a show of the Yamakasi, a group of young Frenchmen considered as the "Samurais of the 21st Century", who will put on a breathtaking show involving jumping between the buildings within the tobacco trading plant. Discovered by French film director Luc Besson in 2001, the Yamakasi group have been travelling and demonstrating their art all over the world.

Following the Yamakasi, popular British group Duran Duran, with lead singer Simon Le Bon, will take centre stage to play a live concert for over an hour on what promises to be a fantastic night's entertainment.

Top Chefs Xavier Pellicer, from the Restaurant Abac in Barcelona, Romain Fornell, from the Caelis at the Hotel Ritz in Barcelona and Joan Roca, from the Celler de Can Roca in Girona, all Michelin Star establishments will be providing the exceptional catering for over 1200 guests.
