09.00: Malcolm Rands | Moving Image Studio, R Block, Wintec
Since 1994, Ecostore has developed and brought to the NZ market a leading range of eco friendly household cleaners, body care, pet care and organic gardening products. These are now available in most supermarkets and health stores throughout NZ, and in over 400 stores in Australia, Korea, Singapore Hong Kong and the UK. Ecostore founder and CEO Malcolm Rands will tell his story about the success of Ecostore and about design and sustainability. He will be talking about what’s involved in working towards 'restoring the health and wellbeing of the planet by making it easier for people to be green.' He will also invite the audience to participate in a discussion at the end of his talk.


11.00: Douglas Lloyd Jenkins | Moving Image Studio, R Block, Wintec
Douglas Lloyd Jenkins is a creative force in NZ design. Described by Wallpaper magazine as one of the most influential design writers in the Southern Hemisphere, he is one of New Zealand’s best-known and most highly respected design writers. He has specialised throughout his career in restoring to prominence, overlooked practitioners of the arts architecture and design who contributed enormously to the creation of contemporary New Zealand culture. Douglas Lloyd Jenkins will base his presentation on his views on interior and architectural design

13.00: Luke Thompson Live! | Moving Image Studio, R Block, Wintec
Luke Thompson will be playing solo at the Spark Finale. After completing high school, Luke took himself to Hamilton on a Rockquest scholarship where he studied music and song-writing at Wintec, graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Media Arts. Luke's debut single Morning Light was released to radio and music television late 2005, enjoying 11 sunny weeks in the NZ Radio Top 40 chart. The Morning Light music video placed in the Juice TV Top 30 chart for 6 weeks and received several Top 5 ratings on C4's Select.


15.00: Luke Thompson | Moving Image Studio, R Block, Wintec
Luke Thompson will be talking about his life and work in the music industry in a question and answer session after playing solo at the Spark Finale. 18.00: Trust Waikato National Contemporary Art Awards Ceremony | Waikato Museum
The Trust Waikato National Contemporary Art Award have become one of the Waikato’s premier art events. This annual award is an opportunity for New Zealand artists to appear in an overview of national artistic practice and feature in a major exhibition within the Waikato Museum.
