15 August 2007
New Zealand's number one teen magazine wraps up
the roadshow leg of their ninth annual Girlfriend Model
Search on Saturday 18 August at Auckland's Westfield St
Lukes mall.
The Girlfriend Model Search is one of New Zealand's most prominent modelling competitions. Girlfriend magazine is giving kiwi girls, aged 13-19, the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be discovered and become New Zealand's next big thing, sharing in a prize package worth over $20,000!
Says Girlfriend editor Pamela Marker: "We're not just looking for a catwalk model, but also a role model. Someone with a positive attitude, down-to-earth nature, inspirational, confident without being OTT and generally what Girlfriend believes in... fun!"
Winner of the 2005 Girlfriend Model Search, Tia Woods is enjoying a successful career, having modelled at both 2006 New Zealand Fashion Week and 2007 Australian Fashion Week. Tia is currently back in New Zealand for 2007 New Zealand Fashion Week, before heading off to Ford Models in New York.
Ten finalists from the Auckland roadshow will be announced on the day. After narrowing down the field later in the search, Girlfriend will host five finalists in Auckland for a workshop to determine the ultimate winner of the Girlfriend Model Search 2007.
