SING-A-LONG WITH NUMBER 1 FILM HAIRSPRAY

HAIRSPRAY, the number one film at the New Zealand Box Office for two weeks running, will release sing-a-long prints into cinemas on Thursday September 27, which is a first-time initiative for a new release film in New Zealand.

The sing-a-long prints will display the song lyrics along the bottom of the screen so audiences can sing-a-long and not only enjoy, but interact with the film.

Roadshow Film Distributors Marketing Manager Melanie Rae said, ``We are excited to bring this new initiative into our marketplace. Audiences are returning to see the film a second or third time and with the music from the film being so popular, this will give audiences a whole new experience’’.

The following locations will release the sing-a-long version of the film on Thursday September 27, 2007.

AUCKLAND
Hoyts Sylvia Park

CHRISTCHURCH
Hoyts Moorhouse

HAIRSPRAY is based on the 1988 John Waters cult classic film and the critically-acclaimed, Tony Award-winning Broadway hit musical, and features an all-star ensemble of John Travolta as Edna Turnblad,
Michelle Pfeiffer as Velma Von Tussle, Christopher Walken as Wilbur Turnblad, Amanda Bynes as Penny
Pingleton, James Marsden as Corny Collins, Queen Latifah as Motormouth Maybelle, Zac Efron as Link Larkin and newcomer Nikki Blonsky as Tracy Turnblad.
