RNZB secures the exclusive Tyrrell Katz ballet range in time for Christmas
The Royal New Zealand Ballet has added the delightful Tyrrell Katz ballet range to its online merchandise shop.
General Manager Amanda Skoog says she is thrilled to have secured the exclusive license to sell the range in New Zealand.
“James Tyrrell is an extraordinarily cleaver illustrator and his designs will delight young and old,” she says. “We are thrilled they have arrived in time for Christmas. The quirky characters featured in the Tyrrell Katz ballet range are all drawn in correct ballet positions and I’m sure they will be a source of fascination and inspiration for budding Kiwi dancers.”
Designer James Tyrrell, who lives in South Africa with his wife and two young boys, says his drawings are inspired by everyday art, design and photography that put a smile on his face.
His first ballet design was commissioned by The English National Ballet and it now sells all over the world. James' business partner Nicky Garretty was a professional dancer for over 10 years and has been very helpful with the newer ballet prints.
The RNZB’s Tyrrell Katz ballet range includes an umbrella, a shoulder bag, a small carry bag and a pencil case. They are available from www.nzballet.org.nz
