To Promote New Zealand Fashion

New Zealand fashion designer Jimmy Lim, the Deutz New Zealand Fashion Design Ambassador, has beaten the odds of major international success in his first ever showcase collection in Asia at the prestigious Malaysia International Fashion Week.

“I am very excited to have been chosen and to promote New Zealand at such an international event. It is an electrifying experience and has challenged at all levels to push the Jimmy Lim label to another level of sophistication and recognition both nationally and internationally.” says Jimmy Lim.
Jimmy Lim, 29, a fashion graduate of the Auckland University of Technology rose to fame following tremendous success after the launch of his fashion label ‘Jimmy Lim’ in New Zealand in 1999.

Recognised as a new generation force in the fashion world, Jimmy Lim represented New Zealand as the Deutz New Zealand Fashion Design Ambassador at London Fashion Week and subsequently met king-of-shoes designer Sir Jimmy Choo who personally inspired and mentored him in expanding his New Zealand fashion label internationally.

Jimmy Lim’s efforts secured him a connection with renowned international couturist Bernard Chandran in Malaysia, where he worked on a variety of projects including the ceremonial garments for the recent crowning of Her Majesty Tuanku Nur Zahirah, the Queen of Malaysia.

Jimmy Lim’s latest collection entitled ‘Fashion Is Boring’ injected vibrancy and exhilaration on the catwalk and is a balance of truly complex intellectual ideas which include a wide range of wearable yet exciting pieces, including over-sized t-shirts, sexy tuxedo cut jeans, delicate chiffon dresses and luxurious dresses for special occasions.
