FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Vector Wellington Round the Bays 10 years on…

The 2008 Vector Wellington Round the Bays is less than 6 days away and to date the fun run/walk has been receiving an enormous number of registrations and is tracking towards breaking the record once again in its ten year history.

“This year we are celebrating the 10th year that Sport Wellington Region has organised the successful Wellington Round the Bays and it just continues to grow and develop into one of Wellingtons iconic events,” said Michael Bennington, Event Director and General Manager at Sport Wellington Region.

“In the last few years the event has grown to become New Zealand’s biggest Push Play event and in our 10th year we want to break our own record of 10,100 people pushing play” said Mr Bennington.

Organisers have also stressed the importance of pre-registration so that participants can receive free travel on TranzMetro rail lines and GO Wellington Buses or Valley Flyer Buses to and from the event. GO Wellington will also be providing transport back to the CBD at the end of the event from Kilbirnie Park.

The Vector Wellington Round the Bays is one of Wellington’s iconic events and after ten years of growing it looks like it will be another fantastic event on Sunday 17th February.
