Re-screening of Sir Ed film
In response to the unprecedented feedback we have received to last night's television broadcast of the outstanding documentary THE CONQUEST OF EVEREST - the extraordinary film account of the late Sir Edmund Hillary's great ascent - we are delighted to announce that we will re-screen the film on Queen's Birthday Weekend.
The film, which screened last night as a tribute to Sir Ed's life, captured the hearts of many New Zealanders and will be broadcast again on Sunday 1 June, 2008 at 9.30pm on Triangle Television's Auckland and Wellington stations, and nationwide on Stratos Television.
This Oscar-nominated film, made in 1953, gives remarkable insight into the drama, the teamwork and the human detail of Sir Ed's extraordinary expedition, and includes rare film footage from other mountaineers' previous attempts in the 1920s.
