New Zealand electronica
band Heat Like Me opened sales of their debut EP, titled
"You Want It", this month, featuring entirely analogue
synthesizers.
The band are a four-piece live electronica act, whose music can be compared to contemporaries The Knife, Hot Chip and Goldfrapp. "You Want It" captures the warmth and spontaneity of the band's live performance, combining electronic drums and analogue synthesisers with pop vocals. This debut EP explores elements of electro, funk, and Detroit techno, presented in a fun and accessible manner, and features collaboration with Wellington rap artist Tommy Ill.
After their first
performance, the group were one of only a handful of
musicians invited to showcase at Wellington radio station
Radio Active's 30th Anniversary party. Shortly thereafter,
Heat Like Me were asked to play support for Australian
electronica act, Sneaky Sound
System Heat Like Me have
enjoyed considerable support across the country, with radio
play on Radio Active The Wellington band recently made their Auckland
debut at Whammy Bar, and will tour Australia in support of
their EP in June. You Want It is an independent
