Sun, Sand and Squash!

If you’re an avid sportsperson with a keen interest in racquet sports then we have the perfect holiday for you.

Norfolk Island is hosting the 15th Oceania Masters Squash Tournament from 13 - 20 July and it’s a perfect time to flee the winter woes of New Zealand for the sub-tropical South Pacific island.

The Oceania Masters is a popular event and Norfolk Island is a great place to combine competitive Masters Squash with superb hospitality and beautiful surroundings in an Island atmosphere.

An entry fee of AUD$50.00 for the tournament is payable on arrival and includes a welcoming Fish Fry on the Monday (14 July).

The week also includes exciting range of events to suit both competitors and partners alike.

The seaside Norfolk Island Golf Club hosts an afternoon’s play on the Sunday (13 July) and if you’re in the mood for dancing and listening to some great local talent bop along to Band Night on Wednesday evening (16 July).

Presentation Night is on the Friday with some great prizes and a fun night at the club.

Whether or not you’re competing in the tournament or simply showing your support, Norfolk Island has something for everyone. So come, enjoy the sun, enjoy the sand and marvel at the squash!

The Norfolk Island Travel Centre has special packages to Norfolk Island from NZ$1145 per person twin share ex Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

About Norfolk Island:  Discovered by Captain Cook in 1774, Norfolk Island was first settled as a British penal colony in 1788 through to 1856. On June 8, 1856, the island was re-inhabited by a community from Pitcairn Island, descendants of the Bounty mutineers and their Tahitian companions.   Known today as Norfolk Islanders, they form a majority of the 1,800 resident population. Norfolk Island is renowned for its spectacular coastal scenery, colourful history, sporting and cultural activities, convict heritage and duty free shopping.

Air New Zealand flies to Norfolk Island on Sundays and Wednesdays.
